Nurse Charlotte, with shoes removed, and her tray ready, walked back to her patient, and placed the tray down carefully. She could feel the scrutinising eyes drilling into her, but could tell that she was now getting back into Lady Kenworthy’s good books.
Lady Kenworthy smiled at her and said thank you for the drink, and added that her mouth was dry.
“We’ll take this, have some pain killers, and then as gently as I can, I will see if the support brace needs taking up or slackening off.” said Charlotte, trying her best to sound professional, cheerful and efficient.
“Here you are, it’s not just about delivering your care and needs, a nurse has to hand out tender loving care too!” Smiled Charlotte, and added chirpily… ” I can see that this poorly girl needs some! I can always tell what a poorly girl needs! So I am giving you a very good dose of t.l.c….”
Lady Kenworthy chuckled. “It’s been a long time since I have been treated so special!”
“Oh we all need treating like a girl sometimes!” Laughed Charlotte. Things were now going so much better.
