More to ‘come’ we are told
Well for some of us that er, well, has sort of er, happened…
Do you mean you have seen the photos before? yes….that is the whole point. I have explained this a few times, but people still ask me. You see when I do a shoot, I take far more photos than I need, and crop them to suit the story. Probably over a hundred never see the light of day, it seems a shame for them never to be used, and just languish on my computer. Ever since I started this, I have used the same photos in many places. These are not as cropped as I used in the original, or not cropped at all, and lots of them have never been seen, almost the same, but not. Also, you must remember that even if you are a ‘long time viewer’ I get loads of new people every day, casual visitors who are not interested in looking at every nook and cranny, so these draw them in. Also they are in black and white for example, a lot of people crave black and white. Plus, even though the stories are very much alike, I try to vary bits. Its complicated…some people just come for Saint Helena, so I am adding some previous schools stories to that… others come for victorian, some for Kate, some for Charlotte, some for Samantha….and they have only just met them.
And…..lol….its my blog, which I do for free, and is mine to do as I like with :o) It also costs me a lot of money….rent for the studio, paying the girls etc…..it costs me a lot of time too….it is easy to say you want grand new stuff every day, when you just sit and read it, but I am not a big studio with pots of money, I am a 71 year old man who just does what he can in a very ordinary three bedroom semi.
A lot of shoots I did a while ago were for photo sets, and the basis of the story was added, I now tend to do ‘in threes’
My advice is, if you are a long term visitor, just look at the new stuff, but if you want to know my site ‘in depth’….look at it all. Just like swapping channels on t.v…..you look at what you want.
I suppose I will be writing this all for someone else in a few months.
All comments are useful though, and things are not always what they seem.
I do not mind your comment, your words are always good, and you must feel free to write what you want James. The key word is ‘SOME’, some people have seen these photos before, but ‘Most’ have not. I get more casual visitors than regulars, I value the fact that you look in every nook and cranny, but most don’t….but when they do, I try to grab them. You never know who they might be, they could be another contributor in the making.
