” When you have finished cleaning these stairs I am going to examine them in the most minute detail, and you are getting a whack for every bit of fluff I find, do you understand?”
“Y-y-yes…Mistress, I understand.” Replied Kate meekly.
“You are not at school now young lady but I am still the same strict Miss Kenworthy, and you know my accuracy and strength. You will get each one on your ‘sit spot’, right here!” Her Mistress said as she illustrated the position.
“Yes Mistress, I will do my very best.” Kate answered as she brushed quickly with the tooth brush.
“I hope you are doing your very best anyway!” Shouted Miss Kenworthy.
Kate thought it best to keep quiet and concentrate on her task.
