Her brothers and sisters shout…”Happy New Year Lucy!!”
As she runs from the room clutching her bare, sore, red, striped bottom, the Aunts and Uncles, along with cousins cheer her Mummy!
“Well done! She has needed that for years!”
“And she is going to get a lot more!!” Says Mummy.
“Hoooray! Happy New Year!!” They shout as Lucy lays on the bed, rubbing cold cream on to her cheeks, with no supper.
